The “Amas Höhenstudie 2000“ explains how many and which advantages a stay in high mountains has on the human organism.This report was provided by the science institute Humpeler and Schobersberger in collaboration with the University of Innsbruck/Austria. For this investigation 100 people during a period of three weeks had to go for mountain walks on a level of 1500 to 2000 m. above sea level.The effects on the human organism were: after 3 weeks the exchange of fat and sugar became better, the weight became reduced by two to three kilogrammes and to those who suffered of high blood pressure happened a significant change for the better.Furthermore the formation of erythrocytes and the transport of oxygen to the cells improved significantly.
